Mangusta brings Oceano 39 to Cannes and teases a world premiere as volume becomes the buyer question

Mangusta has confirmed that it will present the Oceano 39 at Cannes Yachting Festival 2026 alongside an unnamed world premiere. The yard says it will be in the Vieux Port from 8 to 13 September at Jetée Sud 013/170. The release is concise, but it points to a useful buyer question: Mangusta wants the discussion to move beyond length and towards volume, layout and how the yacht is actually used.

The Oceano 39 is a 39-metre, three-deck yacht of 324 GT. The project was developed by Overmarine Engineering with exterior design by Alberto Mancini. In this size band that matters, because buyers often start by comparing metres and only later discover how different the experience can be in salon height, exterior deck area, crew flow and owner privacy.

A Fifth Hull Is More Useful Than A Static Debut

Mangusta says the yacht coming to Cannes is the fifth hull of the Oceano 39, with interiors by M2 Atelier. This is therefore not just a fresh prototype arranged for show lighting. For the market, the fifth hull gives a better basis for questions about repeatability, service feedback and the type of changes previous owners have requested.

The performance figures also keep the conversation grounded. Twin MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines rated at 2600 hp each are quoted with a maximum speed of 19 knots and a cruising speed of 16 knots. That is not a promise of a sports yacht disguised as a displacement yacht. It is a fast, high-volume compromise for an owner who wants interior and deck space without giving up useful passage speed.

An Unnamed World Premiere Still Tells Buyers Something

The most intriguing part of the announcement is the second yacht, which Mangusta has not yet named. A world-premiere reveal scheduled around Cannes suggests that the yard is preserving a surprise, but buyers should read it practically: is it a new line, another variant of an existing series or a signal of a shift in brand strategy?

At the stand, the useful questions will not be the glossy ones. Buyers should ask about production slots, Overmarine service access, equipment already proven on earlier hulls and the real weight of interior personalisation. Our first-time Cannes buyer guide explains why these questions need to be prepared before stepping onto the pontoons. On a yacht of this volume, an adviser from W Yachts should compare price and layout with warranty exposure, delivery timing and resale discipline.
