Benetti Oasis 36M adds technical depth to the Oasis idea

Benetti has used Cannes to show the new Oasis 36M, a 35.60-metre superyacht for 10 guests in five cabins and crew accommodation for seven. The headline is familiar: a large Oasis Deck and close contact with the water. The more useful reading for a buyer is technical. Benetti is also talking about a newly developed bow bulb, longer stays at anchor and a move from hydraulic systems to electric deck machinery.

The Oasis Deck measures 82 square metres and is treated as a proper open-air living space. Moving the garage forward frees the aft section for guests, while the main saloon and skylounge layouts are designed to keep sightlines open towards the sea.

Beyond the rendering

Benetti says the new bulbous bow is expected to cut hydrodynamic resistance by at least 10 per cent at 10 knots. A serious buyer should still ask for full fuel curves rather than relying on a single catalogue figure. The stated range is 2,500 nautical miles at 10 knots, with 25,000 litres of fuel capacity.

The hotel side matters just as much. Black and grey water capacity is listed at 5,000 litres, which fits Benetti’s argument that owners are spending more time at anchor rather than simply moving between marinas. The optional Siemens Siship EcoProp hybrid system and SCR equipment below 500 GT should therefore be treated as due-diligence items, not brochure decoration.

Buyer Takeaway

Oasis 36M is smaller than many yachts that define Benetti’s superyacht image, but its value will depend on specific choices: propulsion package, hotel-load capacity, real noise levels at anchor and service access for the electric deck mechanisms. As with any range and fuel review, technical documents will matter more than the launch event.
