British Marine has announced that Southampton International Boat Show will return to Mayflower Park in 2027 with a shorter eight-day format. The event is scheduled from Saturday 18 to Saturday 25 September 2027. The organiser says the change follows exhibitor feedback after the 2026 show and is intended to concentrate visitor activity while still retaining three weekend trading days.
For buyers, the important detail is not only the number of days. British Marine says Fairline, Princess Yachts and Sunseeker have already confirmed plans to attend in 2027. Those three British brands remain relevant to clients comparing family cruisers, sport-fly models and larger crewed motor yachts.
A Tighter Calendar
A shorter show may suit exhibitors by reducing the spread of costs and conversations. For buyers it leaves less room for improvisation. If the 2027 plan is to compare Princess, Sunseeker, Fairline and used boats in nearby marinas, meetings will need to be arranged earlier. The day plan will need fewer casual gaps and more deliberate priorities.
That matters after the Mediterranean show season. A client who has seen yachts in Cannes, Genoa or Monaco can use Southampton as a second filter: less theatrical, but closer to direct talks with British builders, dealers and service teams. A useful visit should cover not only model walkthroughs, but also production timing, warranty support and local service capacity.

Recent coverage of Princess Odyssey 108 in Monaco showed one side of the larger-yacht market. Southampton shows another: organisers are trying to preserve quality and commercial weight without stretching the event over ten days.

Boat-show viewing should be joined to an analysis of yachts already available on the market, because shows reveal builder intent while brokerage stock reveals timing, price and real availability. Southampton 2027 could be useful, but only with a prepared model list and confirmed meetings.
