Saxdor is using the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival to show the 460 GTS, the open version of its new flagship platform. The yard is presenting the boat from 8 to 13 September in the Power Boat Marina at Port Canto, alongside the 400 GTC, 400 GTS, 340 GTWA and 320 GTO. For buyers, the important point is not simply the premiere label. It is that Saxdor is building a larger dayboat with many of the expectations of a small family yacht.
The official model page lists a 14.4-metre length, a 45-55 knot maximum-speed range, up to 1,275 hp and capacity for 15 passengers. Those numbers need to be read through usage, not spectacle. The 460 GTS may suit fast coastal hops, villa-based boating or tender-style support for a larger yacht, but engine choice, stability with a full guest load and fuel use will matter more than a dockside photograph.
Open Deck, Real Survey
Saxdor positions the 460 GTS as an alternative to the enclosed 460 GTC. It keeps the flagship platform but moves towards a walkaround layout, open social areas and optional sliding doors for more protection when the weather changes. That mix is attractive for Mediterranean buyers who want one boat to work as a day cruiser, weekend boat and fast transport tool.
The diligence questions are practical. A buyer should test movement around the deck with guests on board, check whether opening sections restrict circulation, locate storage for safety gear and water toys, and inspect service access to the systems. At a claimed 45-55 knots, a sea trial in real chop is more useful than a short marina demonstration.
A New Middle Ground
Saxdor sits in the same broad trend as the Pirelli 44 Ducati Edition: buyers want speed and theatre, but also comfort, protection and predictable ownership. The 460 GTS simply pushes that argument into a larger and more versatile package.
For W Yachts, the comparison should include not only other premium dayboats but also used sport cruisers around 45 feet. A client buying helm emotion, a family weekender and a chase boat for a larger programme is not buying the same specification. The right answer changes the options list, service plan and resale logic.
