Ferretti Group has introduced Ferretti Quality Promise, an additional year of limited warranty coverage for new yachts up to 45 metres. The announcement was published on 8 September 2026, during the opening day of the Cannes Yachting Festival. The programme applies to purchase contracts signed from 1 September 2026 and is designed to sit alongside the yard’s standard warranty.
The key point is not the headline “+1 year”. For a buyer, the important part is the condition under which that additional year remains useful. Ferretti refers to core engineering elements and functional systems on board, while excluding cosmetic issues and aluminium or steel units. Coverage is also tied to scheduled checks and servicing through the group’s official service network.
What Changes In The Contract
The programme covers Ferretti Group brands, but it does not remove the need to read warranty annexes in detail. A buyer should confirm whether the additional year applies to the exact model, hull number, equipment list and service location. Mandatory inspection schedules matter because, in practice, one missed service date can turn a useful promise into a dispute.
It is also a market signal. In a more competitive environment for buyers, new yachts are not competing only on layout and delivery slot. They are increasingly competing on predictability after handover. For an owner planning an active charter season or a quick return to the brokerage market, documented service can become part of resale value.
Questions For The Buyer
Before signing, the buyer should ask for the full programme wording, not only the sales summary. Who performs the inspections? By what date? In which port? What happens if the yacht operates outside Ferretti’s main service geography? It is also important to distinguish yard warranty, supplier warranties and the responsibility of the dealer or service centre.
Our guide to motor-yacht fuel consumption and range makes the same practical point: ownership promises only matter when they survive real operating conditions. Ferretti Quality Promise confirms that trend. Extra warranty has value only if the owner runs the yacht according to procedure and the broker discusses those obligations before the deposit is paid.
