Baglietto sells Project53 as its fifth 2026 order points to demand below 500 GT

Baglietto has announced the sale of the first Project53, a 52.5-metre aluminium yacht below 500 GT. According to the release, this is the yard’s fifth sale in 2026 and the first unit has been commissioned by a repeat client. Delivery is scheduled for 2029.

The project carries exterior design by Enrico Gobbi of Team for Design, who is also responsible for the interior concept. Baglietto lists a 9-metre beam, aluminium hull and superstructure, twin CAT C32 engines and a 16.5-knot maximum speed. The platform is also prepared for an optional hybrid system with lithium batteries, variable-speed generators and electric motors.

Why Does The 500 GT Line Matter?

Around 50 metres, buyers often want as much yacht as possible without stepping into a more complex operating regime for volume, crew, berths and service. Project53 is aimed directly at that space: a large sundeck, a beach club opening on two sides, pool, fitness/SPA area and main-deck owner’s suite, while staying below the psychological and operational 500 GT line.

That does not make the yacht simple. The more functionality that is packed into the volume, the more important the invisible items become: service access, noise, ventilation, guest and crew circulation, equipment weight and the ability to customise without damaging the delivery schedule.

What Should A Buyer Do?

With a 2029 delivery, the key points are price indexation, milestones, title to materials, supplier warranties and change-order language. An owner-side broker such as W Yachts should compare Project53 not only with Project58, but also with available 45-55 metre yachts on the brokerage market.

Baglietto’s fifth sale is a strong demand signal. For a buyer, the more important question is whether the selected specification remains technically and financially controlled all the way to 2029.
